- Lenious was the last Confederate Veteran to die in Surry County.(per Phillip Chappell and family records). He farmed Phillip Chappell's farm. There are 6 or 7 Confederate soldiers of his buried in the family plot (not related). Joined Carsley Methodist Church 1 Oct 1890, Rev. L.M. Williams. He was buried on his farm, where he was also born. He gave the farm to Iola and Logan Emmett Chappell
