- Aunt Stella was always very fond of Calvin Horne and he was her little doll baby. This was before she married and had kids. She always had a nice disposition and was friendly towards everyone. Her children were like sisters and brothers to the Horne family. Aunt Stella always blushed very easily. Mary Virginia Horne remembers that Aunt Stella had a crush on a friend of Herbert Raines Horne's, Myron Benton, that moved to Conneticut and everytime he came down to visit Herbert Raines Horne, Aunt Stella had to rush over to visit and she would stand there and her face would turn red when he would walk in and she would look at Mary Virginia and say 'you little devil you'd better keep your mouth shut and don't say a word', but her face was so red that no one had to say anything.
