- FIFTH GENERATION
22 7 LEVETER JOHNSON, son of (13 6), was evidently married but childless at his father's death in 1742. We guess his birthdate at around 1710. He inherited his father's plantation which believe was on the western edge of what was then Surry County. He was named as an executor of his father's will. Leveter Johnson and his wife Susanna entered into an indenture with Thomas Emery, Jr., December 1759 for some land in Surry County which had come to them through her family. Leveter and Susanna Johnson had at least three children and possibly others. Leveter died in 1777 and gave 50 acres each to these three children. His eldesl son, Levi, was appointed guardian of the youngest. the orphan Thomas, in March 1778. It appears that none of the Johnsons served in the Revolutionary War, the father being too old and the sons too young for service.
